Integral Systems Inc. of Lanham, a satellite systems provider, will begin developing a global positioning system satellite command and control system for Northrop Grumman Corp. under a $20.6 million contract that runs through March 2009.
Integral Systems will provide satellite command and control, network command and control, training, and ground system simulation capabilities.
‘‘This contract award is important for Integral Systems and the Air Force,” said Jim Schuetzle, Integral’s executive vice president for government programs, in a statement. The company’s GPS next generation control segment system is an extension of its Command and Control System-Consolidated system already operating the Air Force’s military satellite communications system. The project ‘‘marks a very important step toward enabling more common control capabilities for Air Force satellites.”
‘‘Northrop Grumman is extremely pleased to continue our relationship with Integral Systems,” Northrop Grumman’s Steve Bergjans said in a statement.
Integral reported revenues of $128.7 million for fiscal 2007, which ended Sept. 30, up 10.5 percent from $116.5 million in fiscal ’06. Net income was $12.8 million, up from $12.3 million the prior year.
